I was responsible for Directing/Producing the project. I started out making all of the design documentation and building a paper prototype and then brought it to the class to produce. I spent the majority of my time checking quality of work and updating tracking documentation. I made it my goal to optimize asset workflow through the pipeline and push for a higher quality of work. We were the first project to successfully launch to a mobile device and established practices such as atlasing textures.
Furiously Fast Racing is a lighthearted drag racing game that aims to bring the excitement of racing to a younger audience.
All of the key elements of drag racing are present such as shifting at the the correct time and making a good launch but the cars, characters, and environment are designed make the game accessible to a wider audience; not just hardcore race fans, although they have a game they can enjoy as well. FFR puts you in control of your own car and character. You can upgrade your car and customize your character to fit your own personal style and race against a variety of opponents on various difficulties for any skill level.

This game was developed as part of the Advanced Production (Chico State Game Studios) class at CSU Chico.
What is Chico State Game Studios?
Chico State Game Studios (CSGS) is the culminating project of the Applied Computer Graphics department at CSU Chico. The advanced production class is entirely student led, and offers students a unique learning experience:
Use industry standard tools… FFR was developed using the Unity 3D game engine as well as asset creation software including Maya and Photoshop.
Coordinating large teams… more than 50 people worked on FFR during it’s production cycle.
Working with multiple disciplines… skills include concept art, modeling, animation, level design, audio, and programming.
Simulated industry environment… students are interviewed and tested before being placed in a department, once they make it onto a project they will use project management software including a ticket system and version control server.
Training and improvement… working in iterative sprints, students receive and apply regular feedback from their peers, experience student leaders, faculty, and alumni.

The core of any drag racing game revolves around launching the car off the line and shifting at the sweet spot...FFR includes these elements but sets itself apart with entertaining audio and dramatic animations and effects.
Cars to race with is another staple of drag racing games…
FFR has a variety to choose from and allows you to upgrade them both visually and mechanically, unlike other racing games the upgrades don’t just boost your cars stats it also modifies the appearance of the car.
Characters to choose from and customize are a key aspect of FFR.
None of the popular racing games have a system that allows for characters to be visible while racing or allows players to customize those characters.
